We are “Angels of the Road” association, which unites parents and relatives of children, young people and adults murdered in road killings in Bulgaria.Officially, our organization exists since February 2024.
Unofficially, our activity dates back to 2021 when the stepson of our founder Petya Ivanova was murdered by a criminal and road recidivist who hit his car at 150 km on a road where the speed limit is 50 km. Two more young men were killed in the same accident and two others were left disabled.
United we seek to achieve what we haven’t been able to individually: to find justice for our lost loved ones, and to push the Bulgarian government and institutions to finally effect changes which are necessary to make our roads safer. We strongly believe that preventing other parents and relatives from experiencing the tragedy and pain we’ve had to endure is the best way to honor the memory of our lost children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers!
Unfortunately, the support of the Bulgarian institutions is only in theory. In practice, everything continues as before. This is why we would like to join your organization - to gain strength and support from your experience so far.
