SafeDrivePod international is founded in 2016 and is based in The Netherlands.
SafeDrivePod has the closed solution for smartphone distraction in traffic. For bike, car, truck and bus.
Our organisation has developed the hardware, the firmware (software running on the hardware), the app software (on Android and iOS) and the web software. Further we have a close relationship to the manufacturer which is also based in Europe.
SafeDrivePod is already operational in The Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany, Italy, France, the Nordic countries, Czech Republic.

The SafeDrivePod is a complete solution that ensures that the screen of the smartphone is completely blocked while driving. We want SafeDrivePod to become synonymous with security in traffic by preventing distractions by phone.
We now have set a concrete goal: by the end of 2020 we want to save 1000 lives:
1000 traffic victims less than if we had not done anything.
Product
The SafeDrivePod consists of three important parts:
The Pod: The SafeDrivePod itself is mounted somewhere in the car and sends a wireless signal to indicate whether the car is driving. The product is as big as a 5-cent piece (24mm diameter, 7mm thick and a weight of 6 grams) and runs on a battery for about 4 years.
The App: Your phone connect to the pod and then makes it impossible to access all other apps while driving. Only hands-free calling and navigation app(s) are still possible. For your safety!
The Server: A user can bypass the system by turning off Bluetooth, or completely uninstalling the app. However, the server continuously keeps track of user behavior and sends an email when Bluetooth (e.g. by mistake) is turned off. Daily, the server also stores how often the user makes a "violation" of our rules and converts that into a score (10 is good, 0 is bad). Through our dashboard or API, the fleet manager, employer, insurer, etc. can keep track of how well a user participates in the SafeDrivePod system.
Ease of use: An important feature of the SafeDrivePod product is that it is extremely easy to install. No car mechanic is needed to build the pod in the car.
