The Proactive Revolution: Implementing a New Operating System for Road Safety

What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?

The RoRiMo Project is moving beyond the limitations of reactive analysis to implement a new, proactive operating system for road safety. Our mission is to prove that the Vision Zero goal is achievable, but only through a fundamental paradigm shift.

We have developed a proprietary, AI-driven platform that functions as a real-time "co-pilot" in any vehicle. This system is built on two core pillars:

  1. The Accountability Principle: Our MVP tests have conclusively shown that by combining real-time feedback with secure, biometric-based driver identification, high-risk driving behaviors are reduced by over 90%. We create a culture of responsibility, which is the most effective accident prevention tool.
  2. The Policy-Driven Platform (PDP) Model: We offer more than a product; we offer a new architecture. Our platform allows public authorities and policymakers to implement digital, enforceable safety directives directly into the system. This transforms static regulations into dynamic, real-time actions.

Our commitment is to democratize safety by making this technology accessible and effective in any vehicle, old or new, thereby bridging the critical technology gap in the current fleet. We are not just collecting data; we are creating a self-learning, proactive ecosystem that makes our roads predictably safe.

The Vision Zero goal is not failing because of lack of effort—it’s failing because of a reactive mindset. RoRiMo offers a proactive, inclusive, and scalable alternative: a system that doesn’t wait for fatalities to validate its purpose.

Beneficiaries

Road safety and technology

Estimated impact & ways of measuring

Estimated Impact:

A significant, measurable reduction in all types of road accidents, not just fatalities.

A drastic decrease in operational costs for commercial fleets (fuel, maintenance, insurance).

The creation of a new, objective data standard for accident reconstruction and legal proceedings.

Accelerating the achievement of national and EU-level Vision Zero targets.

Ways of Measuring:

Quantitative Metrics: We will measure the reduction in accident frequency and severity within our pilot fleets. We will track key driver behavior metrics (e.g., harsh braking events, speeding, tailgating) to demonstrate a >90% improvement. We will also quantify cost savings via telematics data (fuel consumption, component wear).

Qualitative Metrics: We will conduct surveys and interviews with participating drivers and fleet managers to measure the perceived increase in safety, a reduction in stress, and the overall acceptance of the system.

System-Level Metrics: We will measure the number of new applications and services built upon our open data ecosystem by third-party developers and researchers.

Eventual partnerships in your commitment

We are actively building a coalition of strategic partners to launch the first large-scale pilot projects. Our primary focus is on establishing symbiotic relationships with:

  1. Public Authorities & Policymakers (e.g., DG MOVE, DG HOME): To co-develop and implement digital safety directives using our PDP model.
  2. Technology & Research Bodies (e.g., EUSPA, national transport institutes): To validate our technology and co-create new knowledge based on our unique data.
  3. Industry Leaders (Insurers, Vehicle Manufacturers, Fleet Operators): To create win-win business models that accelerate the adoption of proactive safety measures across the market.
  4. Driver Training & Technique Centers: To generate high-quality data on emergency situations in a controlled environment, rapidly accelerating our AI's learning curve without real-world risk.
