Describe your organisation

MOT.O.E. (Hellenic Motorcyclists Federation - www.motoe.gr) is a non - profitable, non-governmental motorcyclist’s organization. MOT.O.E. is an ‘umbrella’ organization for most of Greek Motorcycle Clubs, situated all over Greece, represented regularly by their delegates at its General Meeting, the major administrative assembly. Based in Athens, with representatives all over Greece is financed mainly through its own activities, but also by some sponsors. MOT.O.E. is one of the first six organizations which founded F.E.M. (F.E.M.A. today) and participates in the F.I.M. ERTS scheme. A few years before MOT.O.E. founded and supported the Athletic Federation and a Consumer’s Organization.

At the end of January 2010, MOT.O.E. officially announced the foundation of the Hellenic Motorcycle Institute “MOTOTHESIS”, a non-profitable company with two main axes: advising and training.

Since 1996, MOTOE has benefited from RoSPA’s contribution (www.rospa.com) to road safety and sophisticated approach. Throughout this time we have gained valuable experience through our involvement with RoSPA Advanced Drivers and Riders Association (RoADAR) Examiners Simon Gough, Dave Tew, Stuart Bullock and Geoff Gregor (order of names is based on the length of their involvement) who have keenly supported our efforts, always as volunteers.

He.M.I. MOTOTHESIS followed a 5+5 years program of 7 different actions starting gradually from 2010 and escalated up to 2014. A successful period of five years lead He.M.I. to re-estimate and deploy up today the most of the actions to procedures. The private sector (insurance companies) recognized the value of our Advanced Rider’s Examination and offered a discount up to 45% to insurance fees to whom successfully participates in He.M.I. Exams.

Since 2019, He.M.I. MOTOTHESIS is working together with CMRC (Cyprus Motorcycle Rights Club) based in Cyprus. The training programs are available in Cyprus improving the road safety for the Cypriot motorcyclists who would like to attend the training offered in their island.

Since September 2021, He.M.I. “Advice in Advanced Riding - E.Q.L.” - the program offered by the He.M.I. MOTOTHESIS - awarded the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label, an initiative jointly led by the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM), the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) and the German Road Safety Council (DVR). This Label certifies that the above-mentioned training program are of high quality as well as road safety oriented based on the program screening and initial assessment.
