Pedestrians are one of the most vulnerable users of the urban environment, especially now with the new forms of travel that put them in danger: Personal Mobility Vehicles. The year 2023 ended in Spain with a balance of 118 pedestrian deaths. The most common type of accident they face is run over, which is more common in cities than on interurban roads.PROIN's Intelligent Pedestrian Crossing alerts drivers to the presence of a pedestrian in the vicinity of the crossing with the intention of crossing it. Our system is capable of detecting pedestrians at a distance of more than two hundred meters, simultaneously activating a set of vertical and horizontal warning signs for drivers. The vertical signage is made up of two high-brightness HI LED type signs that operate at slow flashing and minimum brightness while there are no pedestrians in the vicinity, increasing their intensity to the maximum when they detect the pedestrian. Horizontal signage delimits the passage through reflectors or LED plates, reinforcing the alert to drivers. It is a preventive, sustainable system with low energy consumption, improving mobility by reducing accident rates.

"It is mathematically impossible to drive with the idea of maintaining a safe distance and not causing traffic jams". We need to shift to the paradigm of "maintaining inertia," not distance. And how do we teach this? With a video game! (traffic simulator) In smartphone, in Tablet, in Laptop, in PC...

Road safety is crucial for protecting lives, enhancing economic stability, and improving the quality of life. The global economic impact of road accidents is $1.8Tr or 10-12% of global GDPR. In Europe alone, it is estimated to be €280Bn or 2% of EU GDP. The other side of road accidents is that 1.19M people died on our roads in 2021.
The increasing volume of vehicles and complexity of road networks require innovative solutions to improve efficiency of road traffic management and road safety. The use of advanced data analytics and deep data fusion transform road traffic management through empowering road traffic authorities to make timely accurate and data-driven decisions.

By analysing historical and real- time data from the road and arterials, our advanced data analytics solution deliveries 100% road monitoring coverage, identifies high-risk areas and predict accident-prone situations, allowing traffic authorities to implement pre-emptive measures, such as adjusting traffic signal timings, optimizing traffic flow, or providing timely warnings to road users. This data driven approach significantly reduces the number of road accidents and enhances overall road safety.

This mobile application includes basic safety advice for motorcyclists from how to ride in a group to how to brake correctly. Although users may believe they have a certain level of motorcycle experience, there are always risky situations where users are unsure of the best strategy. This mobile application is essential for the "retraining process" that users should go through after obtaining their licence.

Formació 3.0 is a free programme to promote advanced training for motorcyclists by the Servei Català de Trànsit, in collaboration with ANESDOR.

In these practical driving sessions, adapted to all levels, the motorcyclist rides for about 20 minutes, accompanied by a monitor who records the movements of the user. The images are then viewed to correct any faults.

The motorbike is also checked, indicating what needs to be improved in its maintenance. At the end of activity, the recording is handed over so the user can review and assimilate the information received.

The use of bicycles is becoming more and more common, both at urban and sports level, becoming a healthy and sustainable alternatives that promotes responsible mobility. The increase in the number of cyclists has caused an increase in accidents in which they are involved. According to data from the General Directorate of Traffic, 43 cyclists died on the road in 2022. This poses a new challenge for the authorities, who must promote measures for the protection of these particularly vulnerable users. The Detection and Alert System for cyclists on the Road deal with this problem. This equipment is designed to alert drivers of the presence of cyclists on the road with sufficient advance notice, allowing them to adapt their driving by reducing speed and/or increasing the safety distance. Prevention is configured as a necessary element to reduce accident rates. When it detects the presence of cyclists on the road, the system sends an alert to the intelligent LED warning signage for drivers to turn it on, reinforcing the message through a text display. When this circumstance ceases, the signal remains off, contributing to the objectives of sustainability and energy efficiency.

Road works are necessary to keep our roads in optimal operating conditions, but their presence generates mobility problems, traffic jams, increased risk of accidents or insecurity. One of the most affected groups is road maintenance workers. According to data from the General Directorate of Traffic, in Spain there were 172 accidents in construction zones in 2022, of which 22 involved personnel working or walking on the road, while the rest affected workers were inside their vehicles. To address this problem, our R&D Department has designed a machine for the automatic placement and collection of cones on the road: Easy – Cone. This system, installed in vehicles of more than 3,500 kg, is capable of automatically placing the cones on the road without the worker stepping on the asphalt, being able to operate the equipment from inside the vehicle. Once the intervention has been completed, the same device collects the marking elements. This avoids the worker's exposure to road traffic, so the accident rate due to run over and/or collision on stretches affected by road work will be minimized.
