Ljudska univerza Radovljica (Adult education centre Radovljica) is a public organisation, which provides adult education in local environment. It offers formal educational programmes for adults (vocational and secondary education): trade school, administrative school, computer operative, economics, tourism and computer. We organise a lot of informal education: different language courses, ICT courses and programmes for personal development, art courses and study circles. One of most successful projects is an in-formal programme PLYA (Project learning for young adults) for young adults who drop out of school. We motivate them to include back in the school system, finish school and/or get a job.
We established two intergenerational centres, where we connect older and younger generations in different activities.
Ljudska univerza also manages the Beekeeping Centre in Lesce, its aim is education, development, presentation and promotion of beekeeping. We cooperate in international projects from year 2000 8 (Grundtvig, Erasmus+)
The KamRa Youth Day Center is intended for children and adolescents who face various hardships in growing up, and for young people up to the age of 29. It is financed by the Municipality of Radovljica, the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, and the Slovenian Youth Office.
The center offers a safe space where participants can actively spend their free time, receive free study help, individual counseling, information, and necessary support. The space and activities are intended for young people who want to develop their potential and interests, discover new hobbies, acquire new knowledge, and become socially active.
The purpose of various programs and activities for young people up to the age of 29 is to connect, motivate, and activate young people, especially young unemployed people and other vulnerable target groups. The goal is also to integrate children, adolescents and young people into the local community.
Activities are organized according to the needs of adolescents and young people and their wishes and suggestions are used. We pay special attention to counseling and solving the problems of children and adolescents and their parents, we cooperate with school counseling and other services. We connect with various organizations and societies in local communities and beyond.
