Make Roads Safe Hellas (MRSH) is a non-profit organization founded in 2010. It is located in Chania – Greece and has presence in Athens. As a supporter of the international “Make Roads Safe” campaign, the aim of the organization is to ensure political commitment and awareness of the magnitude of the problem of injuries from traffic accidents and the promotion of road safety issues as a critical issue for sustainable development. It is a signatory of the European Road Safety Charter since 2011 and an expert member of EuroRAP.
MRSH’s activities serve the five Pillars of the Global Plan for Decade for Road Safety 2011–2020 and include:
» Actions that increase public awareness and engagement for road safety;
» Actions that promote networking and cooperation with local and international organizations related to road safety;
» Studies that develop an in-depth understanding of road accident causation at local level and propose plans for their
prevention and mitigation;
» Implementation of the Road Assessment Program (RAP) methodology for road’s infrastructures risk assessment;
» Provision of experts’ advices and consultancy to public and private organizations for the improvement of road safety.
