The number of motorcyclists in Lithuania is growing every year. According to the data of 2023, there were ~88,000 motorcycles and mopeds registered in Lithuania. New drivers only receive 10 academic hours of practical driving lessons in schools before they get an A category (motorcycle driving license). In our opinion, this is too little to learn how to ride a motorcycle safely. We emphasize continuous informing of the motorcycling public about safe participation in public traffic. We organize public rides during the season in with 40 to 100 riders are participating. We teach how to properly and safely ride in a motorcycle convoy, what signs to use, how to brake, maintain a constant speed and maintain safe distances between moving motorcycles. These rides are organized free of charge. We also host shows and podcasts on a variety of topics relevant to motorcyclists, including road safety and information for new young motorcycle drivers. A video about the first medical aid to a victim in a moto accident was filmed last year. The plan is to prepare more video material about safe driving, safe motorcycle gear, how to maintain a motorcycle etc.

A staggering 1 in 4 road deaths in Ireland in 2023 and 2024 involved young people aged between 16 and 25 years old (RSA, 2023 & 2024). This initiative works with young people to raise their awareness and their understanding of road safety, whilst providing these students with the opportunity to use their own voices to communicate to their peers through reimagining of road safety marketing campaigns.

This initiative works with young people at a crucial stage in their lives- as they become eligible to drive. In 2025, this initiative engaged over 1000 young people, who were early stage, new or learner drivers. This initiative acknowledges that this cohort of young people are most vulnerable on our roads and are not as receptive to the standard marketing around road safety to date.

In an attempt to reduce this disconnect, we are working with 18 to 25 year old students to use their own experience of road safety, and their marketing skills to relate best to their peers through highly curated, highly targeted marketing campaigns.

The thing that worked the best was that absolute majority of people who attended our trainings have realized the need to refresh their driving skills annually and keep returning and spreading the word about our program. The challenge that we encountered was that personal safety reflectors get often get lost and need to be distributed annually instead of being a one-off purchase. We also encountered myths among drivers that driving for many years reduces the risk of having accidents, which is not the case and we worked hard to inform them that no matter the experience, drivers should constantly update their skills and knowledge of the traffic rules.

E-scooters - New TV led E-Scooter campaign

Our new TV led E-scooter campaign aims to raise awareness of the new e-scooter laws.

The campaign went live from Monday 20 May 2024 to coincide with the enactment of the new legislation in Ireland.

The campaign is set in an office environment where we see colleagues welcome the newbie.  The colleagues are dressed up as various characters such as a car, bus, truck, motorbike and bicycle and the newbie E-scooter. We see the characters interact with each other while highlighting six of the rules of the road that apply to E-scooter use.

Road works are necessary to keep our roads in optimal operating conditions, but their presence generates mobility problems, traffic jams, increased risk of accidents or insecurity. One of the most affected groups is road maintenance workers. According to data from the General Directorate of Traffic, in Spain there were 172 accidents in construction zones in 2022, of which 22 involved personnel working or walking on the road, while the rest affected workers were inside their vehicles. To address this problem, our R&D Department has designed a machine for the automatic placement and collection of cones on the road: Easy – Cone. This system, installed in vehicles of more than 3,500 kg, is capable of automatically placing the cones on the road without the worker stepping on the asphalt, being able to operate the equipment from inside the vehicle. Once the intervention has been completed, the same device collects the marking elements. This avoids the worker's exposure to road traffic, so the accident rate due to run over and/or collision on stretches affected by road work will be minimized.

Analysis of available sight distance (ASD) and its comparison with the required, passing(overtaking) or any other type of sight distance, is a key activity for adequate road designing, speed management, road safety inspection and road maintenance. Obligations related to this activity arise from road design norms and manuals. However, in the engineering practice so far, the analysis of available sight distance was either inadequately treated or completely omitted. The reason for such a thing lies in the fact that there were no appropriate tools for effective and safe measuring of ASD.

Searching for solution, we at ''Panpro Team'' d.o.o. have developed innovative software for measuring of available sight distance based on analysis of virtual driver view moving through the cloud of points, recorded by modern mobile laser(lidar's) equipment.

Seventh edition of the Fundación MAPFRE Awards for Social Innovation

Providing solutions to real problems is the main goal of social innovators, who through their projects contribute to meeting the social needs and demands of the public.

With them in mind, we are launching the seventh edition of the Fundación MAPFRE Social Innovation Awards, with the collaboration of IE as an academic partner, broadening our scope even further. In this edition can participate projects from four major regions: Brazil, the rest of Latin America, Europe and the United States of America.
