I begin a SELF TAUGHT motorcycle operator in 1983, by 1986, I had my first major self motorcycle accident that almost left me handicap or a victim..............right after that scene, I give up riding based on the advice my dad had given me that Motorcyclist were Venerable Road Users.
I then begin the user of four (4) wheelers, after Liberia fourteen (14) years of civil war which left the Country with destroyed infrastructures, cars and roads begin so much of demand, Chinese's made motorcycles sold between USD 800.00 to 1,500.00 begin used by Ex Combatants from cash received from the International Community for laying down their guns, they soon begin providing recreation amongst themselves in their communities. Not too long, these motorcycles took over the wave of City to towns transportation with their commercial fares been higher then Taxi Cabs for their fast movement, this mode of transportation was not new in West Africa but Liberia had just joined Nigeria, Mali and others.
Sooner or later, there begin calls from all works of life, civil society and the National Government proposing to ban the usage due to the many injuries and deaths between 5 to 10 daily. The founder of WoGeS been a former RIDER, an active Construction Contractor, traveling nationwide, witnessing 3 to 5 accidents weekly, disagreed with the plan to ban the usage, but, rather institute "TRAINING B 4 D KEY" WoGeS Vehicle N Motorcycle Safety Training Services was formed and register with the Liberia Government as the first for training and creating safety awareness, Liberia not having a set training curriculum lead us to research the USA for it's training mode, crafted similar and posted same on our website www.wogesinc.com for up coming training providers.
Between 2005 and 2010, Liberia had over 250,000 self taught drivers, this begin more serious with us traveling to the USA to get more first hand knowledge to administer a more comprehensive training programs to educate all road users ( Car Drivers, pedestrians, Bi and motorcycle riders). These motorcycles are refer to as Pem Pem because the drivers reckless blow their horns.
WoGeS is seeking partnership to produce Drivers Manuel as well as Mobile Classroom lessons/awareness to reach all road users by the year 2020.
