“Little bikers prompt the others”
Our school materializes a programme about safe cycling. The goals of the project are the students to learn about the safety use of bicycles and the benefits of cycling. Especially, the goals of the project are: 1. To prompt and encourage the students in expanding the use of bicycles. 2. To sensitive the students, their families and the local community to use the bicycles for their transportation. 3. To learn the right behavior on the road, as cycling drivers 4. To act as energetic, responsible citizens for their environment 5. The students to learn search and produce new ideas 6.
Road safety and disability: preschoolers and their parents in action!!!
In our school we will develop a plan to increase awareenss towards road safety in children with special needs (learnign and motor disability) and their parents. What we plan is to teach children basic rules and set the basis for their raod attitude as well as their attitude in transportations such as: car and train. We will work by side with parents intending to develop healty attitudes towards road behaviour and the ones conserning transports. The specialists who will work with us will be police officers and specialists from the park we have in our town on road/traffic education.
We made our own videos inside and outside of the classroom
We worked with road safety rules based on the cartoon, and learning road safety rules using "Power Point" and special cards. We created our own videos relative to the helmet and driving. Our video took part in the international short film competition at Olympia We cooperated with efthita (Road Safety Observatory of Rhodes).
A poster
The students, after the conversation about the cycling benefits, created a poster with a moto (YES to the BICYCLE!). They uploaded it to the entrance of our school.
The Traffic Warden Officer in our school
The Traffic Warden Officer spoke to the students about the bicycle and the cycling ant then he answered to the students questions.
Our questionnaire results
Some of the results of our questionnaire drove the pupils to wrote a letter to the Mayor of our city about the necessity of the construction of a bike road in our town.
