What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?
1. Research:
TrygVesta supports research on traffic and drugs, and contributes to the dissemination of results at international conferences. As part of this engagement, the Group participates in a conference on drugs and traffic in Oslo in 2010.
2. Monitoring:
The insurance group monitors the incidence of traffic-related injuries and keeps statistics on the incidence and types of traffic accidents and their extent. Annual inventories are edited.
3. Proactive prevention:
a) The Groups standard supplementary conditions for busses and trucks contain regulations on the compliance with driving and resting schedules as well as speed limits. These regulations are adjusted as needed.
b) On the site www.trygtransport.dk TrygVesta contributes with tips and advice on road safety and accident prevention. Updated as required.
c) The insurance group has developed an electronic catalogue of experiences and tools that can be used by our customers in the industrial sector. The catalogue will be maintained and enhanced.
4. Internal learning:
An internal Code of Conduct for good traffic behaviour will be developed. This process will initiate in 2011. End Product: internal guidance on road safety to all TrygVesta employees.
5. Active dialogue:
Collaboration with industry associations, such as the Trade Association for the Danish transport industry (International Transport Danmark, ITD) and the Danish Road Safety Council, will be further developed and extended during 2010-2012.
