EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK takes place from 16 to 22 September 2024 every year. It is the European Commission's flagship awareness-raising campaign on sustainable urban mobility. It promotes behavioural change in favour of active mobility, public transport, and other sustainable transport solutions.

Each EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK focuses on a particular topic related to sustainable mobility. This theme inspires the activities held by local authorities and the types of permanent measures implemented. 

The theme for this year's EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK is 'Shared Public Space'. Thematic Fact Sheets have been published by the Commission to serve as a communication toolkit for the campaign. The Fact Sheets higlight the following focus areas for the 2024 EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK: 

  1. Experiencing public space in a different way.
  2. Redeveloping urban space together
  3. School streets: Creating safe space for active travel
  4. Planning and designing safer streets
