What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?

The Danish Road Safety Council wants to contribute to fulfilling the overall EU objectives in the road safety area via a considerable number of extraordinary measures and specific objectives.
The specific objectives and actions are:

1.     Together with the other Danish actors in road safety to contribute to reducing the number of fatal and heavy casualties to a maximum of 200 fatal casualties and 3950 heavy casualties in 2012. This objective is the overall objective of the Road Safety Commission’s plan of action.
2.     To reduce the number of fatal and heavy casualties in the age group 0 – 24 years to 60 killed and 16.000 injured by the end of 2013. This objective is the overall objective of an ambitious 5-year cooperation with the TrygFonden as to road safety for children and young people.
3.     To get 30% of all children aged 3-6 years to become members of Children’s Traffic Club in 2013.
4.     To get 25% of all kindergartens to become members of a new road safety club for institutions in 2013.
5.     To get 80% of children aged 0 – 10 to wear safety helmets in 2013.
6.     To get 50% of children aged 11 -15 to wear safety helmets in 2013.
7.     To get 55% of all schools in the country to establish school crossing patrols in 2013.

12.To establish a communication strategy intended to encourage the use of ITS in 2010.
13.Regular involvement of Council members, support and campaign partners in activating campaigns and road safety messages.
14. To get an increasing number of collaborators to regularly develop and establish road safety policies, for instance with consultancy from the Council (the Council’s major collaborators are demanded to establish a road safety policy if they want to be members of the Council).
15.To facilitate an ERFA group among Denmark’s large logistically heavy corporations.
