What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?

Danish pharmacies play - along with others - an important role in ensuring that Danes become aware of the fact that medicine can affect your abilities when driving. It is a well-known fact that alcohol and driving is a bad cocktail. Fewer people are aware of the fact that their medication or a combination of different medications might affect their ability to drive a car, ride a bicycle, etc. Therefore, the Danish Pharmaceutical Association will seek to increase this knowledge by undertaking the following actions:
Danish pharmacies will distribute a leaflet with information to the appropriate patients when they are in the pharmacies. This leaflet will explain the specific medicine and how it affects driving in traffic, and will be combined with verbal explanations by the pharmacists. The leaflet will be distributed in 2006, 2007 and 2008 by Danish pharmacies. Revisions will be made periodically and the leaflet will be revised, if necessary.
The Danish pharmacies website - www.apoteket.dk - will be included with general information on the possible effects of some kinds of medicine and the ability to drive. The articles will be available on the website during 2006-2007.
