Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is located on the east coast of Ireland between the outer suburbs of Dublin City and the Dublin / Wicklow Mountains and covers the suburban areas of Dundrum, Glencullen, Stillorgan, Blackrock, Dún Laoghaire and Ballybrack. The population of the County according to the 2016 census was 218,018, a 6% increase over the 2011 census. Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council adopted a road safety plan for the Council in September 2022 covering the period 2022 to 2030 with a focus on four safe system priority areas.
