Describe your organisation

The HUMDA, HUMDA Hungarian Motorsport and Green Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA Magyar Autó-Motorsport és Zöld Mobilitás-fejlesztési Ügynökség Zrt.) was founded by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology in order to perform the complex tasks included in the Hungarian Motorsport Development Strategy accepted by the Government, and to facilitate the tasks of Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, the Commissioner responsible for motorsport development and the high priority management of transport safety.

The Agency is aiming to approach motorsports with a new perspective, and establish connections both between the different branches of this sport, and its state and market representatives.

One of the main endeavours of HUMDA Ltd. is to, in close cooperation with the related associations of the sport, establish a wide ranged talent scouting and developing system, within the framework of which the highest possible number of young people can try themselves in car and motor racing in a safe environment with the guidance of trained professionals. It aims to decide on those most talented and most deserving of support based on objective criteria and measurable data, utilising the most advanced methods of examination and performance analysis.

The Agency provides professional support for the planned renovation of the Hungaroring racetrack and its service establishments to create a motorisation centre and racetrack satisfying the needs of the 21th century in every way possible for the guests, teams and supporters.

Furthermore, HUMDA Ltd. is in close cooperation with the Eastern Hungarian Racetrack Ltd. to ensure the highest achievable quiality of the newly constructed racetrack, suitable for hosting the race of the MotoGP World Championship.

The further business acitivities of HUMDA Ltd. go beyond the world of boxes and garages, while still connected to motorsports and everyday mobility. The Agency aspires to actively contribute to the development of Hungarian transport culture, the improvement of transport security, and the radical reduction of the number of serious or fatal transport accidents. It aims to achieve this through familiarisation with and the adoption of well tried foreign solutions, and campaigns.

Furthermore, another important aim is the promotion of new, more environment friendly and sustainable motor industry and mobility technologies and solutions (such as electric mobility), even through race sports or other methods of perception management.

The HUMDA Ltd. intends to popularise the Hungarian engineer and race engineer education, establish experience-based practical opportunities for gaining experience for those in Hungarian secondary and higher education through the involvement of local and international enterprises and racing teams.

It further aims to promote the so called “STEM subjects” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) through motorsport among the younger generations. In addition, the Agency is creating a framework within which local professionals can cooperate with international partners in research and development, enabling them to test technical solutions and new technologies (such as 5G) in the often extreme conditions of motorsport, and intense competitive situations.

The HUMDA Ltd. is actively contributing to the creation of a comprehensive infrastructural and legislative environment that makes Hungary an attractive location for investment, businesses and test sites for motor industry and motorsport companies whose local presence increases the value-added development and service abilites of our country.

In order to achieve the aforementioned goals, the Agency maintains international business and (sport) diplomatic relations, continuously coordinates with the most important people in the field, such as the president of the International Automobile Federation, Jean Todt (who is also a UN appointed Special Envoy for Road Safety), and the promoter of the Formula 1 World Championship and the Grand Prix motorcycle racing, among others.
