A world authority in road safety, Dr. Venter described how important the Charter is and how it is making a real contribution on Europe’s highways.
He stressed that it is key to engage all EU citizens and encourage both private and public sectors to tackle the issue. Any such collaboration would be of great value to the ERSCharter’s road safety targets.

Dr. Pieter Venter is the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Road Safety Partnership and works as a regional manager for Africa. He was previously a manager of traffic safety for The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
