Please describe the main road safety challenges/problems you have addressed or are addressing.
Distraction is a serious issue, especially for teenagers.
What are your objectives?
unified specialized vocational high school
Many of our students come to school in the morning with headphones, which are connected to a cell phone or other device. Many of them also ride their bicycles, wearing headphones. In addition, we had a discussion with some of them about whether they feel safe and secure when they come to school, listening to music, but without listening to what is happening around them in the street. What is distraction? We asked this question to our students for the first time and then we found out that they were not aware of the dangers they run when they wear headphones or when they walk and look or write something on their cell phone. In addition, we discussed their experiences when they are passengers in a car, for example, whether it is safe for someone to drive and talk on his/her mobile phone or to videotape the route while driving.
