Describe the characteristics of your target audience 
The target audience are the school kids who range from 4 to 12 years old and the parents. The main focus is the parents. Professional workers across numerous different industries. A big part of our audience are HGV/BUS drivers who drive for a living.

"CONCENTRATE ON THE ROAD" "DRIVER DISTRACTION CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM" Driver distraction is a major problem at the moment and especially for modern day parents of school going kids, The main example that all kids can relate to is mammy or daddy on the mobile phone whilst driving. In Ireland at the moment there are big penalties for using the mobile phone whilst driving but still drivers continue to use the phone whilst driving.
What are your objectives? 
Help professional drivers/workers to understand the risks associated with Driver Distraction.
Change attitude in relation to Driver Distraction.
Get drivers to Re-Deliver the positive message to others.

Name of action 

The road safety project will be carried out in a local school in collaboration with the school principal and teachers. The actions will include activities for the kids that will involve parents interaction. The activities will be straight forward in the form of quizzes, written assigments, art competitions and interactive home assignments. There will be workshops/talks from local emergency services like the police/fire departments, as a concrete part of this the school kids are visiting these departments this week in our local town.All the activities will focus on the theme of driver distraction and will be set out in accordance with all the relevant groups like road safety authority/police and dept of education. The assignments will have a serious message but will also be tailored towards the kids.The school has a Road Safety Wall which is of great interest to the kids and the parents who are pro active with regards Road Safety.Before and after the action plan there will be a survey filled by parents of the children involved. At the end there will be a dance performance for the safe cross code which will be preformed by the school kids with help of a local dance teacher, The kids will perform their routine at a planned evening at the school with a road safety theme/kids disco.This will be also part of a reward for the kids effort in helping to deliver the message of road safety.Our school is small with a total number of 30 kids, so we have decided to broaden our target audience for this year.Following on from this my organisation through its training activities will deliver key messages in relation to Driver Distraction.We have found that Driver Distraction is more prevalent in the younger age bracket of Professional workers.We have shown somes videos of the risks associated with Driver Distraction to the target audience and the results have been amazing, All the people that were surveyed have insisted that they won't use mobile technology whilst driving. This in some instances is a reduction of 70%.This continues throughout the year, no matter what the training subject we would always ask "who uses their mobile phone whilst driving" at the start of the class, We would did give some stats and show a DVD on the Fatal results of same. Then at the end of the class we would ask "who would use their phone whilst driving" and the results have been amazing!Ultimately this acts as a Focus/Intervention groups by way of discussion and exchanging of views and ideas are generated to reduce risks to drivers.Throughout the year we would have met approx 1000 different trainees and our hope is that they would spread the message to colleagues, friends and family.Our hope is that we can widen our target audience going forward.This could be replicated across the Charters target audience and we have no doubt that it would raise awareness and indeed prevent crashes/fatalities on our roads.We have a wide target audience ranging from chidren through our activities in the school and up to adults whom we meet at our different training courses. 


What has been the effect of the activities? 
Evaluation will be done with the help of the children's parents, with a questionnaire at the start and the finish and gauge the improvements made over the course of the project.We meet the same professional people especially HGV drivers on an annual basis and we always ask the question on Driver Distraction, we know at this stage that this audience have learnt and won't use mobile technology whilst driving which is brilliant.
How have you shared information about your project and its results? 
This will be done by myself by setting home assignments for the children and having regular talks with the kids.At the end of each training session we collate the results and give the audience findings.
