Describe the characteristics of your target audience 
Families of victims, garda including garda Family Liaison Officers (FLO), solicitors, accident and Emergency Depts, funeral directors, doctors, libraries, support service agencies, DPP office, Coroners, etc.

Please describe the main road safety challenges/problems you have addressed or are addressing. 
We found there was a complete lack of information available for families of victims of road traffic collisions.
What are your objectives? 
We planned to write a guide for bereaved families titled - ‘Finding Your Way’, following the death or serious injury of a loved one in a road traffic collision’.
To get the information that families needed from all relevant stakeholders involved ie Garda, Ambulance Services, Coroner, DPP, Court Service ..bereavement support services etc

Name of action 

We met with all the relevant agencies and bodies  for information to include in the guide for families. We discussed their role and procedures carried out  after a crash…we met with the Garda Commissioner and his team, the Garda Ombudsman Commission (GSOC), Forensic Crime Investigator, Coroners, Ambulance service personal etc  We attended Coroners courts when an Inquest of a fatal crash was taking place.  We wrote to the DPP and received the relevant information relating to her office for our guide. The Minister for Transport provided us with all information relating to new laws which would be of interest to families of road traffic victims. We researched all relevant support agencies and information centre to include.

What has been the effect of the activities? 
Get testimonials for our guide. Received many to date from families in 2013 and 2014 and endorsements and testimonials from Ministers, TDs, Garda Commissioner, Road Safety Authority, TDs, Doctors, Family Liaison Officers etc…

Distribute guides to garda family liaison officers and to families who ask for copies, ambulance services, road safety authority, bereaved support services, doctors and counselors and funeral directors
