Please describe the main road safety challenges/problems you have addressed or are addressing.
We found there was a complete lack of information available for families of victims of road traffic collisions.
What are your objectives?
We planned to write a guide for bereaved families titled - ‘Finding Your Way’, following the death or serious injury of a loved one in a road traffic collision’.
To get the information that families needed from all relevant stakeholders involved ie Garda, Ambulance Services, Coroner, DPP, Court Service ..bereavement support services etc
Arrange meetings with all relevant agencies and departments,
What has been the effect of the activities?
Get testimonials for our guide. Received many to date from families in 2013 and 2014 and endorsements and testimonials from Ministers, TDs, Garda Commissioner, Road Safety Authority, TDs, Doctors, Family Liaison Officers etc…
How have you shared information about your project and its results?
Distribute guides to garda family liaison officers and to families who ask for copies, ambulance services, road safety authority, bereaved support services, doctors and counselors and funeral directors
How many people did you reach/have you reached?
