MOTOTHESIS: THE HELLENIC INSTITUTE OF MOTORCYCLE

Please describe the main road safety challenges/problems you have addressed or are addressing. 
The level of the motorcyclist culture is still very low (unfortunately); consequently the Institution – on the one hand – should focused on a basic– but initial for human life - part of riders’ equipment and - on the other hand – should look for perspectives as primary impacts on bad practice before proposes any guide for good practice.
What are your objectives? 
Development of a guide for best practice for the dissemination of information for a qualitative and a broad/wide use of helmet by motorcyclists and pillions.
Development and test of tools based on the above guide.

- Survey on perspectives related with the current practice.- Survey on proposals by Hellenic Motorcyclist Clubs ofMOTOE for improvement of the current practice.- Development of a proposed guide of best practice in thedissemination of the information for a qualitative and abroad/wide use of helmet by motorcyclists and pillions.- Public discussion on issues raised from this guide.- Development of tools based on the proposed guide.- Public discussion on the effectiveness of these tools.

Evaluation

What has been the effect of the activities? 
The quantitative approach of the evaluation activities uses thefollowing indicators:- Number of questionnaires filled in- Number of proposals for improvement of the currentpractice provided by Hellenic Motorcyclist Clubs of MOTOE- Number of deliverables produced- Number of dissemination means used- Number of people/groups informed/discuss with- Number of official bodies informed/discuss with
How have you shared information about your project and its results? 
- The results of our study are going to be published via the official website of Motothesis and the Hellenic Motorcyclists Federation (MOTOE).- The final report is going to be posted to other subjectrelated websites and web-based forums and to published via online or print journal(s).- The body of Best practice is going to be included in the training materials run by Motothesis to pupils (riders or not) and to riders.- Discussion meetings/events are going to be organised in the local clubs, in order to inform about the results of this study and to discuss them with motorcyclists.- The report of this study and the final proposition for best practice is going to be submitted to related bodies of Greek Government.
