What problem did you address/are you addressing? 
There is insufficient involvement of regions and municipalities in the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy for 2011-2020 adopted by Czech government resolution No. 599 of August 10, 2011 as the key document of road safety improvement in the Czech Republic. Its application is only binding for the relevant central government authorities. For regions and municipalities, it is only of a recommending nature and it depends only on the political decision of the management of the competent authorities, which measures will be implemented.
What are your objectives? 
The basic objective is to establish a unified and harmonized road safety system linking the national policy with the regions and municipalities.
- to create an efficient road safety system supported by regional and municipal road safety strategies that will adapt by appropriate means the national policies and measures.
- to establish a synergy support to meet the national targets
- to solve efficientlyspecific problems of the relevant region or municipality
Describe the characteristics of your target audience 
The target audience consist of the relevavant administrations in all Czech regions (14) and cities with more than 10 thousands inhabitants (90)

Name of action 

Several activities have already started following the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy and its annual evaluation. Some regional and local administrations are reporting their safety activities and they provide information how far the national measures are accepted. CDV already initiated and elaborated Road Safety Strategy for Zlín Region that fully adapts the national road safety parameters. The new initiative already started on the local level in 2017. Local road safety strategy has been elaborated for the city of Otrokovice (one of the municipalities of Zlín region) and is currently in the approval process by the local administration. This interconnection can be considered as an convincing example of an effective road safety policy approach. Furthermore these strategies adapt consequently the VISION ZERO. City of Otrokovice is going to be the first city in the Czech Republic without serious injuries. New actions will be developed to extend this approach to other Czech regions and cities.

meetings with the regional and local authorities, conferences, workshops, seminars, journals, National Road Safety Strategy evaluation reports
How did you evaluate/are you evaluating the success of your action? 
The evaluation is directly linked with the targets of the National Road Safety Strategy basically defined by the reduction of fatalities and serious injuries. Beside these direct indicators are evaluated safety performance indicators that describe the changes in road traffic and traffic behavior of road users.Control groups will be demonstrated in the comparisons of the regions that already adopted their own regional road safety strategy with those who have not yet done so.Similar approach will be applied for municipalities,.

Please list the indicators you use to measure success 
to reduce the total number of fatalities to the average level in EU countries - compared to 2009 data – by the year 2020 (i.e. about by 60%) and to reduce the number of seriously injured by 40%.
In addition to these strategic targets the sub-targets for the most problematic road users and the most dangerous risk behaviour factors in road traffic
