The third UN Global Road Safety Week takes place on 4-10 May. The theme is #savekidslives – road safety for children. In the EU, child road safety is a great success story – child road deaths have decreased more than for any other age group the last two decades and children younger than 15 years are today by far the safest road user group in the EU. Less than 3% of all road traffic victims are children.
Via this website, you can find information about the European Commission participation in the week, together with a video message from Commissioner Violeta Bulc.
If you are in Brussels on Saturday 9 May, you can also visit a road safety exhibition as part of the Commission Open Doors Day in Berlaymont.
