Objectives

The campaign has set itself the objective of reaching young drivers, in particular between the ages of 18 and 24, with the message “DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE”. Since 2014 the initiative is therefore particularly targeting vocational colleges with the concept of the ‘DDAD Academy’. At this venue, using among other means a computer-controlled driving simulator, the campaign is reaching a young, car-conscious target group whose members are opinion leaders in their circles of friends when it comes to the topic of ‘cars’ and who are therefore credible multipliers of the message “If you are driving, don’t drink!”. The ‘DDAD’ Academy informs the students at eye level and without accusatory finger-pointing about the risks and consequences of alcohol in traffic and promotes responsible conduct concerning alcoholic drinks.

The campaign has a high status in society and politics. Since 2014 the ‘DDAD Academy’ undertook a total of 36 successful assignments in cooperation with the transport ministries of the states of Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony-Anhalt and Baden-Württemberg. Past patrons have included Dr. Volker Wissing, Minsiter of Economy, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture, Michael Groschek, Minister for construction, habitation, urban development and traffic in the state of North Rhine Westphalia; Anke Rehlinger, Minister for business, labour, energy and traffic in Saarland and Winfried Hermann, Minister for transport and infrastructure in Baden-Württemberg. The assignments are also supported by Ford-Werke GmbH as an automotive partner.
