Each autumn XIU calls on its members to bring the issue of visibility for young cyclists to their attention. During XIU ACTION WEEK we ask schools and parents ' associations to simultaneously take action. In this way, we want to create a group feeling for the young people. And at the same time encourage and inspire schools and parents ' associations by showing that they are not alone in their struggle. The actions in schools are quite varied. It can be about a ' fluo-breakfast ', a ' fluo-music performance ', 'fluo poster campaign, ' fluo flashmob ' etc. There is comprehensive coverage through our website and social media of these events in order to inspire others to also take action. XIU ACTION WEEK takes place from 3 to 7 november 2014. Every year we also simultaneously launch a contest. The intention is providing a creative and fun way to work with young people on the topics of fluo and visibility. This year's competition is the ' FLUO-RAP ' in which young people are challenged to convince other youngsters why visibility is important in a rap-song. All participants are rewarded with a package containing visibility material, gadgets and cinema tickets with which they can reward visible pupils. The winning schools are elected by a professional jury and voting through social media thus involving the youngsters themselves.
