What are you doing/aiming to do for road safety?

Over the coming years, we will continue our awareness actions targeting the general public:

1)       Road accident simulations to explain the role of all those involved in rescue operations (law enforcement officers and first aid personnel) and to ensure that people understand how to behave at the scene of a road accident.

2)       2010 project entitled “dal Banco alla Strada” [from the school desk to the road], targeting schoolchildren of all ages.
The highlight of the project is the presentation of a multimedia lesson aimed at the pupils in accordance with a script analysed by communication experts.

This lesson includes the following:

-        Prior to the lesson, the pupils are prepared and told that they will attend a genuine training lesson, featuring films, clips and spots from journalistic sources and astutely assembled by professionals.

-        The best way of starting is by holding a minute’s silence for all road accident victims throughout the world. All those present stand up and watch dramatic images as the seconds tick by.
Illustration of the association, reports from the legal physician and neuro-psychologist, eyewitness accounts from road accident victims, municipal police officers, traffic police officers and/or military police officers illustrating the means at their disposal to cope with emergencies, and firemen with their distressing accounts illustrating the means available to them.
Emergency services physicians and nurses demonstrating the removal of a helmet from a motorcyclist, explaining what to do at the scene of an accident, what not to do, and how to talk to the emergency services telephone operator. Accounts from families of road accident victims, the only people who can communicate to young people the pain felt by a parent upon losing a child.

Our awareness campaigns against road accidents and public events (in town squares), all of which are carried out throughout the year, can raise awareness among thousands of people, thus quantitatively and qualitatively ensuring effective understanding of the messages.

We will contact over 30,000 young people every year.
