European Road Safety Charter
Speeding is one of the leading causes of fatal crashes in Europe, contributing to around 30% of road deaths. Higher speeds increase both crash risk and crash severity, especially for vulnerable road users.
Improving speed management requires more than setting limits. It depends on safe road design, appropriate speed policies, effective enforcement, vehicle technology and education that supports behaviour change.
This European Road Safety Charter webinar will highlight practical initiatives tackling speeding from different angles. Experts and civil society representatives will share approaches that are delivering safer speeds and safer roads.
