Lanternn by Valerann is a cutting-edge platform that transforms how traffic data is collected, analysed, and used to improve road safety and operational efficiency. Powered by artificial intelligence, it integrates real-time data streams—including floating car data, ITS infrastructure, roadside sensors, navigation apps, weather reports, and social media—into a unified operational overview. This intelligent fusion enables earlier incident detection, faster validation, and more agile emergency response.
Piloted by TII, Ireland’s national road authority, on segments of the M1 and M6 motorways, the project aimed to reduce detection times, boost operator efficiency, and support smarter infrastructure planning. TII also oversaw performance validation and alignment with national objectives.
Lanternn enhances situational awareness for traffic authorities and supports proactive traffic management. It offers a blueprint for future deployments, showing how AI-driven solutions can reshape road operations and set new standards for intelligent transportation.
