1. Occupational safety: The company offers all of its employees free participation in a driver safety training course administered by the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Verkehrssicherheit mbH [German association for traffic safety] at the driving practice site in Bassum. The 8-hour training courses are administered in small groups of up to 12 participants, using their own vehicles. After the theoretical component, participants have a chance to consolidate what they have learned by way of actual driving practice. Driver safety training is a significant building block to help drivers recognise possible hazards early enough to avoid them.
2. Vehicle safety: As a supplier of spare parts for commercial vehicles, together with the Deutschen Verkehssicherheitsrate e.V. (DVR), the company has launched an information campaign using its own infosite www.toter-winkel-spiegel.de to encourage the installation of wide-angle mirrors to compensate for the vehicle blind spot according to EU Regulation 2007/38/EG. The goal is to sensitise drivers to the subject and encourage them to immediately replace old and defective mirrors and voluntarily to add or convert the equipment of older vehicles which, if approved prior to 2000, do not currently require retrofitting.
3. Product safety: Spare parts of the DT® brand with ECE-certification mark (E-marking) are compliant with legal specifications and are authorised for road traffic.
