Casualty reduction on London's roads through professional training.

It is likely that around 28,000 people will be injured on roads in the Greater London Area this year, some 3000 of those will be killed or seriously injured. Our aim is to reduce these needless casualties by producing and promoting resources and publicity materials and by providing a forum to discuss road safety issues. The London Road Safety Council initiated the voluntary accident prevention movement in Great Britain in 1916. In recent years the LRSC has provided quality training for members on a number of day to day issues including Site Risk Assessment training for road safety professionals. They proved popular with officers engaged in cycle training, pedestrian training, walking bus routes and school crossing patrol site assessments. Makaton Training - training for road safety professionals to communicate effectively with special education needs pupils, and to encourage inclusive training for our most vulnerable. Social media training - training for road safety officers to fully use social media available - facebook, instagram, twitter, and new mediums that are emerging every week!
