In spite of the fact that more people die as a result of road traffic accidents than from any other diseases,
road safety still hasn’t received the attention as it deserves.
More than 50% of all road traffic deaths are among vulnerable road users: pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.
To provide you with new insights in this theme, Bill Carmichael and Angelika Biro will explain how they contribute towards safer roads.

Angelika Bíró – Two-wheeler school – Road safety education program for 13-16 years old studentsAngelika Bíró is the Head of Road Safety Education Department in the Road Safety Research Centre of KTI Institute for Transport Sciences Nonprofit Ltd.She works on the field of road safety since 2012, her focus is mainly on the vulnerable road users, children and elderly people. She presents the last year award winning program of the KTI Institute for Transport Sciences Nonprofit Ltd., the Two-wheeler school and the Life on the Road programme which is a complex framework for road safety education based on lifelong learning conception.

Bill Carmichael - my Child Pedestrian Road Safety Resource ROADMATE"Every four minutes a child is prematurely lost on the roads of this world".

So why are our children killed or injured as a result of road traffic accidents? The answer is simple... Just because we tell our children to do something doesn't mean they will apply this in practice. We learn 10% of what we read,15% of what we hear and 80% of what we do ourselves.
ROADMATE has been designed as a portable accessible product that can be used anywhere: car journeys, at home or in the classroom. This Innovative Child Pedestrian Road Safety Resource ROADMATE has been designed to teach children the correct behaviour to cross the road safely.Being aware that many of you are already conversant in this field, Bill Carmichael feels that simply sharing information that you will already be aware of may not allow for a more interesting presentation.  In view of this and, in order to allow the audience to become more informed about my Child pedestrian Road Safety Resource named ROADMATE
