The workshop took place on 25th May 2023.

At the European Road Safety Charter we strive for zero road fatalities and serious injuries by 2050. Unfortunately, we still have a long road ahead of us to achieve this vision. When road crashes do occur, we can still save lives. Well-developed post-crash care is crucial to prevent injuries from becoming fatal and to improve recovery times.

This online event highlighted the importance of this pillar in road safety and explored post-crash care best practices and research from across Europe.

This event was aimed at Emergency Services, Research Institutions, Urban Planners, and any individual or organisation passionate about campaigning for better post-crash care.

Participants were inspired and equipped to start their own post-crash care initiatives.

We welcomed the following speakers:

  • Cristina Lumbreras (EENA): saving lives with ECall
  • Roel Vanden Boer (fire department Noord-Limburg): the challenges of fire fighters on the road
  • Dr Eric Revue (SAMU of Paris): stay and play or scoop and run: EMS runs to keep you staying alive!
